Cornish Tipi Holidays says
Our families have been working and living in north Cornwall for 11 generations so we knew exactly where to find the perfect spot for a unique camping experience. Set in 16 acres, we’re surrounded by a wealth of wild flowers, woodland, butterflies, birds and mammals, and all within a ten-minute drive (or hour’s cycle ride) of Port Isaac on the coast.
Our traditional Indian tipi tents range in size to accommodate from two adults and two children, up to a family of 12 adults and children. They’re light, airy, over 18ft high and made of cotton canvas on a framework of locally-sourced wooden poles, making them ideal for families, couples or groups of friends.
We provide lanterns (we’re off the national grid so don’t even think about recharging your mobile), Turkish rugs, foam bed mats (which you might like to supplement with your own!) and ground sheets plus a cool box, camp stove and basic kitchen essentials. There are pots and pans for use on your campfire - perhaps fry your day’s catch of rainbow trout from our lake, or mackerel from the nearby coast.
Communal flush loos and warm showers are available in two locations and are included in the price.
We have a couple of rowing boats on the lake (lifejackets are available too) and guests are welcome to bring their own bicycles, canoes etc. Sorry, but we don’t accept pets.
Short breaks are for a minimum of two nights and cost from £275 for a tipi for two for two nights.

Rather than camp in a conventional tent, enjoy the space and warmth of a traditional Indian tipi. Located in a wooded valley near the north Cornish coast, the site boasts a spring-fed lake and virgin woodland. In the best Swallows and Amazons tradition, founders Elizabeth and Alan offer a fun break with minimal environmental impact.
